Description

Designed by South African-based ceramicist Jade Paton, the Candlestick collection in signature colourways is moulded and shaped by hand, giving an organic yet contemporary feel. Handcrafted using stoneware clay, each piece is fired and glazed in Paton's Cape Town studio. Informed by Paton's background in fine art, each ceramic piece that she creates sits between function and sculpture. Jade Paton creates contemporary clay sculptures and objects inspired by the ancient vessel. Working with a slow handbuilding process, Paton's surfaces draw on nature and architecture, offering both the raw and natural and the glossy and colourful, for a decorative yet utilitarian domestic piece.

Our Stylist Says

This tall candlestick in indigo blue is a versatile piece that adds subtle colour while maintaining an understated elegance. I love how its sculptural form brings a tactile dimension to a space, making it a great focal point on a mantelpiece or dining table. It works particularly well in contemporary or minimalist interiors, providing a refined pop of colour without overpowering the surroundings. For styling tips, pair it with simple, neutral-toned candles to highlight its shape and colour, and consider placing it alongside other textured or matte objects for a curated, layered look. Its height also makes it ideal for creating vertical interest on sideboards or in open shelving displays.
