KANN DESIGN produces furniture designed by talented designers and handcrafted in the Kanaan workshop in the Lebanese village of Beit-Chabab. These timeless, high-quality pieces are made to stand the test of time, reflecting the craftsmanship of Atelier Kanaan's cabinetmakers. Furniture that can be handed down from generation to generation. The Residence Chair was designed by French scenographer Jean Couvreur. It was originally designed for the refurbishment of the Ministry of Culture's artist studios at the Cité Internationale des Arts. The Tal Chair was designed by Léonard Kadid, a French architect and designer based in Paris. In 2022, he was awarded the FD100 French design prize for his Pier collection of Solid oak chairs. The same year, his Lamp Möja entered the permanent collection of the Mobilier National. Somewhere between structural innovation and formal research, the Tal Chair plays with the basic simplicity of a piece of workshop furniture. Its ingenious assembly system makes it easy to dismantle: aluminum T-profiles reinforce the plywood seat and allow the solid wood legs to lock into place. This structural principle defines its entire geometry, giving it a radical yet subtle presence. Easy to assemble, the Chair is flat-packed. Material quality and craftsmanship are crucial to the manufacture of the TALA Chair. From object to architecture, designer Léonard Kadid explores the characteristics of materials through Light compositions that can be handed down from generation to generation, focusing on the constructive process and structural experimentation.
