I’m a big fan of the Tacoma shelving unit for its straightforward industrial look and solid build. The dark wood shelves set against slim black metal framing bring a modern-rustic feel that works beautifully in urban lofts, contemporary living rooms or home offices with muted palettes. It’s sturdy enough to hold books and decorative objects without feeling bulky, and the open-sided design keeps spaces feeling light.
For styling, mix in a few plants - think trailing ivies or small succulents - to break up the linear lines and introduce a splash of green. Use baskets or boxes on the lower shelves to hide less attractive bits and bobs, then display your favourite books, ceramics or framed prints at eye level.
