Description
Small yet majestic, the Herman lamp was named after Herman Bang:This Danish writer was one of the great craftsmen of the "modern breakthrough" that was led by Scandinavian authors from 1870. With delicate proportions, the Herman lamp offers a stunning combination of tactile, noble and natural materials. It's composed of a rounded lampshade made of hand-blown glass, a solid oiled walnut stem, and a cream-coloured marble base. Classic and retro, this lamp evokes images of another era. It has a charismatic presence. The light beams through the opalescent lampshade to create a cosy ambiance, stimulating a sense of tranquillity. "The Herman lamp has been designed to create an intimate space where nobody feels like an outsider, just like the works of the author that inspired its name", explained Danish designer Signe Hytte. Based in Copenhagen, Signe Hytte opts for a simple aesthetic that's anchored in purity. Finding beauty in the absolute essence of things, she seeks to eliminate superfluous elements without removing the essentials.
