A must-have design classic! This lamp was created in 1969 by Danish designer Verner Panton, one of the outstanding figures of Scandinavian design of the 20th century. Flower Pot has become an iconic object of the 70s, but its timeless design has survived the decades without ageing one bit! The strength of this lamp lies in way the two metal domes that make up the shade interlock. Round shapes, elementary and fun, are highlighted by a multitude of cheerful colours. Verner Panton (1926 - 1998) is considered one of the most influential designers of the 20th century. During his career, he created objects with innovative, futuristic design such as the famous Panton Chair which still inspires the most avant-garde designers to this day. Its style, typical of the 60s and 70s, remains imbued with great modernity.
I love this table lamp for its iconic mid-century design and functional form. Its clean lines and sculptural shape make it a versatile statement piece that can elevate both contemporary and vintage interiors. It works particularly well in minimalist, Scandinavian, or industrial schemes, where its sleek silhouette adds visual interest without overwhelming the space. For styling tips, try placing it on a sideboard, desk, or bedside table to create a focal point, and pair it with simple, neutral-toned accessories to emphasise its sculptural qualities. Its height and shape also make it suitable for layered lighting setups or as a distinctive task light in creative workspaces.
