Description

Introducing the Syracuse Brown Wood Rectangular Coffee Table ndash; a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern elegance. Crafted from reclaimed teak wood, its natural grain and rustic finish exude warmth and character. Contrasting iron legs add an industrial edge, creating a striking visual contrast. Elevate your living space with this timeless piece that seamlessly combines style and sustainability.

Our Stylist Says

I’m a fan of this Syracuse coffee table for its clean lines and the contrast between the warm wood top and matte black base - it sits comfortably in both contemporary and mid-century schemes. It works equally well in a minimalist loft, a Scandi-inspired lounge or an industrial-style sitting room thanks to its simple silhouette and durable finish. For styling, keep the tabletop clear in zones: a low tray with a couple of candles or a small plant on one side, a neat stack of art books on the other. Beneath, a woven basket or slim magazine rack makes use of the space without cluttering. Its generous rectangular shape also means you can centre a sculptural bowl or a pair of lamps without overcrowding.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
