Description

Product Information The Model 05 follows Swyft’s contemporary and minimalist style but with some key designs details that make it an ideal companion for those in need of a higher backrest when enjoying a night on the sofa. The seat uses zig-zag springs to create a domed, curved shape. Not only does this give it a dose of character, but it also exaggerates that sinking feeling when you collapse onto it, and provides the illusion of a deeper seat. The back has a 10° angle which does require more back support, so Swyft have given it bigger back cushions that swallow you up. Child and pet friendly fabrics All of the Swyft fabrics feature stain-free technology so you don't need to worry about your clumsy friend, over-excited child or boisterous pet making a mess. Rather than applying a coating to the linen or velvet, they're inherently durable and resilient as they're made with stain-resistant threads. So if there are spills all you need to do to clear up is wipe with a wet cloth. Delivered in a box No matter how tight your entry space, or how many flights of stairs you need to contend with, Swyft sofas are easily delivered as they will come in a box that can be lifted by one person, or a series of boxes depending on the size. It'll take some assembly when it gets to you, but it does mean you don't need to worry about the logistics of actually getting your new sofa into your home. And you won't need any tools as every Swyft product uses the innovative Swyft-lok mechanism which makes assembly quick and easy. Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for this piece of furniture in one of our shops before ordering. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.

Our Stylist Says

I’m a big fan of the Model 05 chair for its clean lines and compact scale - it slots easily into both modern and Scandi-inspired living rooms without overwhelming the space. The deep seat and flattering track arms give it a relaxed yet refined look, and its low profile works well in open-plan layouts or cosy corners alike. For styling, balance the chair’s angular shape with a softly textured wool rug and a rounded side table. A single lumbar cushion in a complementary tone will highlight its sleek frame, while a floor lamp behind one arm adds height and reading light. It also pairs brilliantly with leafy greenery or a slim console table to create a mini seating vignette rather than a standalone piece.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
