Surfaces collection proposes investing the surface of an ordinary archetypical object with a graphic intervention. In response to the over-creation of new shapes, Surfaces chooses to produce a pre-existing shape and create a collection of graphic surfaces that are to be considered as so many design acts. The first volume elected by Domestic is a cylindrical vase in painted white porcelain with a cover letting it be transformed into a vase for a single flower and into a container. Maison Georgette is the a partnership between two textiles designers who decided to publish their own designs to bring contemporary fabrics to life. Their work combines colour with strong graphics. In this semi-figurative world giant flowers float and pirates' heads spring up among breathtaking sparks.
I love the petite pois box for its subtle charm and versatile colour palette, making it ideal for modern or minimalist interiors. It's perfect for organising small items like stationery or beauty essentials on the sideboard or desk without disrupting the overall aesthetic. Its discreet design and neutral hues can blend seamlessly into a grey or white scheme, while the sprinkled pattern adds a touch of playful interest. For practical styling tips, consider pairing it with other textured baskets or boxes to create a layered, organised look, or use it to subtly introduce colour and pattern into a monochrome space. This piece works particularly well in contemporary, Scandinavian-inspired interiors where clean lines meet functional charm.
