Sunflower Etch is an adaptation of Sunflower block printed wallpaper designed by Morris in 1879. Other more ornate versions of Sunflower produced in the 1880s involved printing oil-based red pigment onto crepe-embossed gold foiled and lacquered base paper. Sunflower Etch wallpaper has been inspired by the metal outline on the surface rollers used for printing Sunflower. Shown here in a church red and biscuit beige colourway. Use the Sunflower Etch wallpaper for a feature wall in a bedroom and hallway or perhaps to cover an entire living room or dining room. This wallpaper is part of the Morris Volume IV wallpapers collection. Application Method: paste the wall and then apply wallpaper. Pattern match:Straight. Vertical repeat: 46cm.
I love Sunflower Etch wallpaper for its classic yet versatile pattern, making it a great choice for adding character to a room without overwhelming the space. Its deep red hue makes it particularly suited to traditional or vintage-inspired interiors, but it can also add warmth and richness to more modern schemes when paired with neutral furnishings. When styling, consider complementing it with soft, textured textiles or antique accessories to enhance its timeless appeal. For practical use, it works well as an accent wall in living rooms or bedrooms, or even in a hall to create a welcoming entrance with a bit of colour and pattern. Keep the surrounding furniture and decor understated to let this bold yet refined wallpaper shine without competing.
