The Sultani 48704 runner has been woven and made by the Hazara tribe based in central and Northern Afghanistan in the Bamyan and Kabul provinces. This runner has been beautifully crafted with Afghan Ghazni wool which has been hand spun using natural vegetable dyes such as walnut, pomegranate, root plants and saffron. Once dyed and hand knotted onto a cotton warp base in Afghanistan this runner has been transported over to Pakistan where it has been expertly finished, including washing and trimming. This runner is a truly unique and totally individual hand-knotted rug, meaning you can add an authentic and unique piece of crafted design into your home, whilst supporting this heritage industry. The striking traditional design makes it the perfect new addition to add to the vintage home, and would fit perfectly in the hallway, bedroom and living room areas, wherever you want to make a statement and add a cultural feel.
The Sultani 48704 runner is a great addition to both classic and contemporary interiors, thanks to its warm brown tone and traditional wool texture. I love how it can anchor a hallway or add cosy definition to a kitchen or dining space. Its neutral colour makes it versatile, pairing well with both wood and painted furniture. For styling, consider layering with smaller rugs for added depth, and place it under a simple, understated furniture layout to keep the look clean and inviting. Practical tips include using a non-slip underlay to help it stay in place and choosing furnishings that complement its earthy hue for a cohesive, timeless look.
