Description

Table lamps can be the finishing piece for any décor, offering that soft ambient glow that makes an interior so comforting and relaxing. Our unique Sudha table lamp features a speckled textured design, which offers a bold contrast against the smooth grey shade for a more daring image.

Our Stylist Says

I love this grey table lamp for its versatile and understated elegance. Its muted tone makes it an easy addition to various colour schemes, particularly those with neutral, muted, or contemporary palettes. It works well in both living rooms and bedrooms, providing a soft, ambient light that enhances relaxed, welcoming spaces. For styling tips, consider pairing it with textured cushions or cosy throws on a neutral sofa, or place it on a bedside table alongside simple accessorised décor. Its understated design allows it to complement both modern and eclectic interiors, while its subtle colour makes it suitable for smaller spaces where a sleek, cohesive look is desired.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
