Description

Transform your lighting with the with the Stripe Easy Fit Shade in Red and White. This fabric shade diffuses a calming wash of light which will fill your room with a sense of relaxation. Style this easy to fit shade in a bedroom or living room to achieve ultimate serenity. The stitched red and white stripes offer a subtle pop of colour which will definitely brighten up any room with a contemporary touch.

Our Stylist Says

I’m a fan of this red-and-white striped shade for its straightforward, fresh look - it instantly livens up a room without feeling over the top. It works especially well in kitchens and dining areas with a coastal or country theme, but equally adds a punch of colour in a neutral hallway or children’s room. To style, pair it with simple white or pale grey walls so the stripes really stand out, and echo the red in smaller accents like cushions, a rug or artwork. As an easy-fit ceiling shade it slips straight onto most standard fittings, making it a quick update that ties a space together.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
