Description

Design. Bring the luxurious comfort of your lounge into the dining room with the Stressless Mint dining armchair. Upholstered in smooth leather with contrasting wood legs, it’s full of contemporary yet classic style. The chair’s generously cushioned seat will ensure lasting luxury, so you can make the most of your dining room every day.

Our Stylist Says

This chair is a stylish choice for contemporary and Scandinavian-inspired interiors due to its clean lines and neutral grey leather finish. I love how its low back and subtle armrests create a relaxed, inviting vibe perfect for casual dining or cosy kitchen spaces. The D100 legs in a light wood tone add warmth and contrast beautifully with the leather, making it versatile enough to blend into both modern and traditional settings. When styling, consider pairing it with a minimalist table or layered textures like woven placemats and soft textiles to enhance the understated elegance. It works particularly well in open-plan kitchens, breakfast nooks, or even as an accent piece in a lounge-dining hybrid. Practical tips include adding a plush cushion for extra comfort or coordinating with similar upholstered furniture to unify your space.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
