* Opulent Velvet composition * Arts and Crafts design * Available with a plain or piped edge * Coordinating Made to Measure and Made to Order items available to purchase separately Perhaps William Morris’s most recognisable design, Strawberry Thief was inspired by the thrushes that crept under Morris’s strawberry nets in his garden at Kelmscott Manor, Oxfordshire. The original pattern took several days to print using hand-carved woodblocks to build up the different colours, and ‘Strawberry Thief’ was consequently one of Morris’s firm’s most expensive cottons. Whilst waiting to see the first piece printed, Morris endured sleepless nights in his lodgings at Merton Abbey. Designed in 1883, Strawberry Thief remains one of William Morris’s most popular and iconic designs. Introduce refined texture and timeless pattern into your home with the Strawberry Thief Velvet Made to Order Cushion Cover. Woven from luxurious velvet and showcasing William Morris’s iconic Arts and Crafts print, this cushion cover offers a sophisticated balance of comfort and heritage. The intricate Strawberry Thief design, available in a colourway exclusive to Dunelm, brings richness and depth to sofas, armchairs, or bedding arrangements. Choose between a clean plain edge or a classic piped trim to suit your preferred style. Crafted in the UK to your specifications, it’s a versatile addition to any coordinated soft furnishing scheme and pairs beautifully with matching made to measure curtains, Roman blinds, and tiebacks. Whether used to refresh a reading nook or complete a layered lounge look, this made to order cushion cover brings individuality, artistry, and comfort to your interiors—all while celebrating British design at its finest.

Our Stylist Says

I love this cushion cover for its vibrant, vintage-inspired design and rich velvet texture, which instantly elevates both traditional and eclectic interiors. It works particularly well in cosy living rooms or bedrooms that lean towards a classical or bohemian aesthetic, adding a touch of colour and tactile luxury. For styling, consider pairing it with neutral or understated cushions to let the pattern pop, or mix with other textures like woven throws or smooth fabrics for a layered look. Since it’s made to order, it’s a great way to introduce a personalised, statement piece without overwhelming the space.
