What you need to know This dining table seats 10. Solid marble top. Wood frame and legs. Every piece of marble is unique and will vary in colour. Veins and pores are completely natural. Fissures – narrow cracks – will be filled to create a smooth surface. Any slight opening in a fissure is completely normal. Fissures do not affect the structural integrity of the stone. Marble furniture requires special care and attention. As a soft stone, marble is susceptible to chipping, staining, cracking, scratching and discolouration. Marble is porous so spills need to be removed immediately to minimise staining. This is especially important with acidic substances like fruit juice, wine and curry. Ensure that moisture does not become trapped under anything placed on the surface like vases. Always use coasters and placemats to protect against heat, spills and ring marks. Clean regularly. Wipe gently with a cloth dampened with warm water or transparent rubbing alcohol. Dry with a soft duster. To restore shine and protect the surface, use natural furniture paste wax. DO NOT use knives to cut food on this marble top, or use it as a work top, or place heavy weights on it or use acidic or abrasive cleaners. Never sit or stand on a marble surface.
I’m a fan of the Goya table for its sculptural pedestal and solid-timber top with a pronounced deep edge - it reads as both architectural and understated. It sits well in contemporary, Scandi-inspired or pared-back transitional schemes, where its clean lines can take centre stage. For styling, pair it with slim-profile chairs in leather or slip-covered linen to contrast the table’s weight, and add a simple runner or a low vase of greenery to break up the surface without hiding that impressive edge detail. Understated tableware in matt glazes will complete the look.
