Description

Design. Bringing essential storage to the home without taking up too much space, the Stanwick console table is the perfect spot for stashing away everyday items. Featuring a wide drawer as well as an open shelf, it leaves plenty of room up top for your favourite candles, vases or lamp - not forgetting that all-important bowl of keys and miscellaneous knick-knacks!. Solidly built and beautifully crafted, the console table has a timelessly elegant light oak finish. Supplied with with both chrome and wooden handles, you can choose between a traditional or contemporary look. Matching occasional tables and dining room furniture also available.

Our Stylist Says

The Stanwick console is a versatile piece that works particularly well in neutral, understated interiors where the light wood adds warmth and subtle character. Its simple design makes it ideal for a variety of spaces, from hallway accents to sofa side tables or even as a practical surface in bedrooms. I love to style it with a mix of textured accessories like ceramics, small plants, or table lamps to create a welcoming vignette. Practical tips include using the drawer for essentials like keys or stationery, while the lower shelf is perfect for books or baskets - keeping surfaces clutter-free while adding functionality. Its clean lines and natural finish lend themselves well to both contemporary and Scandi-inspired interiors, making it a flexible choice in most schemes.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
