Description

Design. Every lounge needs a coffee table and every coffee table must be practical yet stylish – Stanwick fits the bill perfectly. With a modest design featuring clean lines and an overhanging top, it has classic written all over it. Offering twice the surface space, itfeatures an open shelf to the bottom which is ideal for stashing books and magazines away out of sight, but not out of reach. Finished in light oak for a fresh and modern look, the Stanwick coffee table is a timeless beauty that complements almost any interior scheme. Matching side tables are also available.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Stanwick coffee table for its simple, clean lines and neutral oak finish, which makes it incredibly versatile for various interior styles. It works well in both contemporary and more traditional settings, especially in spaces that lean towards a natural or Scandinavian aesthetic. Practical styling tips include layering it with cozy throws, placing a mix of books and decorative accessories on top, and using the lower shelf for storage baskets to keep clutter at bay. Its understated design allows it to adapt easily to different colour palettes and furniture choices, making it a reliable piece that adds warm, natural texture to your living room.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
