The SSD Chair is Simple, Strong and Durable. It is 100% made in Europe with strong, hard-wearing materials. The SSD chair was born from an ambition both simple and committed: to design an ideal chair for everyday living while minimising the environmental impact at each stage of its life cycle. The structure of the SSD chair is made of steel: highly robust, steel is the most recycled material in the world. 100% of the wood used for the seat and backrest comes from sustainably managed European forests (PEFC wood). The SSD chair uses just 1% plastic, and it’s recycled. The packaging is made of 80% recycled paper. The chair comes disassembled in flat packaging, which limits its carbon footprint during transport. The SSD Chair can be easily assembled in 2 minutes, without tools, with a single screw, provided. The SSD chair is made up of just 5 elements, easy to dismantle and therefore to recycle in decades to come. After 2 years of passionate work, the Tip Toe design house launched a crowdfunding campaign to produce the SSD chair. 600 contributors, 1500 pre-ordered chairs: that's how the fantastic adventure of the SSD chair began.
