Description

Contemporary lighting styles for lighter colour schemes with the Sputnik Ceiling Pendant Light. This ceiling fixture is finished in matte white with a chrome lining on the inside of the discs for a modern sheen to your decor, reflecting an atmospheric glow outwards across the room. It also has a beautiful abstract sputnik design, guaranteed to be an eye-catching focal point wherever it is styled.

Our Stylist Says

I love this pendant for its playful yet modern design - the Sputnik look adds a touch of contemporary character while the matte white finish keeps it versatile. It works well in interiors that have a minimalist or mid-century vibe, but can also add an interesting focal point in eclectic or industrial spaces. For styling, consider hanging it over a dining table or in a living area to create a striking centrepiece. Pair it with warm bulbs for a softer glow, and keep surrounding decor simple to let the light fixture really stand out. It’s practical too, as the reflective discs help disperse light evenly, making it a great statement piece without overwhelming the space.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
