Our Stylist Says

I love this pendant for its sleek, modern take on classic brass finishes. The small dome shape makes it versatile, working well in both contemporary and traditional interiors. It’s a great choice for adding a warm, metallic accent over dining tables, kitchen islands, or even in a cosy corner of a living room. For styling tips, consider pairing it with minimalist decor to highlight its sculptural form, or grouping a few in a cluster for a statement look. Its subdued brass tone complements neutral palettes but also pairs beautifully with richer colours like deep greens or navy for a sophisticated finish. Practical tip: keep the height adjustable to optimise task lighting or to create visual balance over different-sized spaces.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
