Hand crafted in Italy, the Smithfield stone leather 2 seater sofa has a sculptural silhouette with feather and fibre filled seat cushions for comfort. Designed by Aaron Probyn for the Habitat Design Reunion project to celebrate our 50th birthday, the range is inspired by classic 60s racing car designs. With rounded, rolled arms and a high back, Smithfield is hand crafted using age-old techniques. Comprising an armchair and 2 sofas, the timeless range complements both traditional and modern schemes and is available in fabric or leather in a choice of colours.

The Birth of Habitat
In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.
The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.
Rapid Expansion & Legacy
Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.
The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.
Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.
Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.
