Description

Designed by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby for Knoll, the pristine Smalto Round Dining Table in grey is a contemporary reinterpretation of the great design classics. Crafted from enamelled steel, it features a reinforced honeycomb core for increased stability and noise minimisation. Its sculptural composition features a thick table top on sturdy tubular legs. It is a considered example of balance and simplicity, which allow it to complement both contemporary and classic interiors. A duo celebrated for their epic contribution to contemporary design, Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby founded their award-winning studio Barber & Osgerby in 1996. Designing buildings, furniture and even the 2012 Olympic torch from their base in London, the pair have been awarded OBEs for their services to the design industry.

Our Stylist Says

I love this round grey table for its sleek, contemporary look and versatile size, making it a great focal point in both modern and industrial interiors. It works particularly well in open-plan kitchens or dining areas where space is at a premium, as the 137cm diameter allows for comfortable seating without feeling overcrowded. To style it effectively, consider pairing with minimalist chairs in contrasting textures or colours to add visual interest. Practical tips include using a simple runner or placemats for a casual vibe, and incorporating decorative centrepieces like candles or a small plant to personalise the space while keeping it clutter-free. Overall, this is an adaptable piece that lends itself to numerous interior styles, from modern urban to more classic schemes.
