This hand-crafted luxury box upholstered in genuine leather was made in collaboration with the prestigious Danish manufacturer, August Sandgren. This famous institution exclusively makes hand-crafted leatherboxes: rare and exclusive items. This box is made from leather offcuts coming from the manufacturing of Egg™ and Swan™ armchairs from Fritz Hansen. The eco-responsible manufacturing of this box is, as such, able to reduce and reuse waste. The manufacturing method used is extraordinary, it is based on an ancient tradition of binding in which the leather is usually cut. The leather gains a patina and will age beautifully. The inside of the box is upholstered in natural linen. Due to the limited amounts of leather, only small series of products are made. Each box therefore has a unique number highlighting the exclusivity of this extraordinary product. Founded in 1920, the August Sandgren company creates boxes hand-crafted with the best natural materials. August Sandgren was the first binder and maker of boxes in his period. He was renowned for the quality, the timeless aspect and the practical nature of his work. His works are exhibited, among others, at the Denmark Design museum and the Royal Danish Library.
