Created by the iconoclastic Dutch designer Marcel Wanders, the Skygarden pendant was raised to the rank of design star when it was presented at the 2007 Milan Show. This masterpiece reveals a world of extreme refinement, hidden under an exterior of great sobriety. A link between past and present, a subtle blend of baroque and modernity, Skygarden is based on a subtle double game, mixing sophistication and sobriety. Simple and refined, the aluminium dome covers a sumptuous decoration of white plaster, moulded with festoons and garlands of flowers. From the meeting between this minimalist bell and these neo-baroque decorations is born a surprising, delicate harmony. The internal opaline glass diffuser is covered with fine baroque steel lace. To create this extraordinary pendant, whimsical designer Marcel Wanders was inspired by the friezes that adorned the ceilings of his childhood home on which he loved to contemplate the play of light. Skygarden provides diffused, sustained lighting without being glaring. The Spigolo pendant can easily be placed on top of a table without dazzling guests. The polycarbonate ceiling rose is painted the same colour as the dome.
