The light oak finish and clean lines suit Scandi, modern farmhouse or minimalist schemes, and the slim depth makes it ideal for hallways or small dressing areas.
To style it, keep the top surface clear or add a simple tray for keys and a low planter to avoid clutter. Inside, group shoes by type (trainers together, heels together) and consider adding uniform baskets on the open side for scarves or gloves. In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth.
