Description

A soft and comfortable rug made from short-haired sheepskin with origins from Australia. All the sheepskins are natural and therefore variations in structure can occur. The back of the sheepskin is natural leather. About your new rug We recommend John Lewis & Partners Rug Hold Underlay. It prevents your rug from moving underfoot and protects against colour transfer to the floor Regular light brushing or shaking will assist in keeping the skin's natural characteristics. This product can be machine washed. Pre soak in 40-degree water and wash in a wool cycle. Rinse until water is clear and then spin dry to remove any excess water. Gently comb wool whilst still damp. Slow drying will give best results, line dry away from direct sunlight. Once dry, stretch by hand in all directions. When almost dry stretch by hand in all directions. This product can be professionally dry cleaned. Reshape whilst damp, Flat Dry, Tumble dry at low temperature Owing to the handmade nature of this rug, each piece is unique in size and may differ slightly to the dimensions provided, however this does not impact the design. To avoid colour transfer, we suggest using on floors and hard seating like chairs and benches. Avoid using on cloth surfaces such as sofas and armchairs

Our Stylist Says

I love this sheepskin rug for its versatility and cosy texture. Its neutral grey tone makes it a great addition to both modern and traditional interiors, adding warmth without competing with existing colour schemes. It works particularly well layered over hardwood or tiled floors in living rooms or bedrooms, offering a tactile contrast underfoot. Style-wise, it pairs beautifully with minimal furniture for a relaxed look, or can be used to soften the edges of a more structured space. Practical tips include placing it near a seating area or bed to add comfort, or draping it over furniture for an effortless, laid-back style. Its size and softness make it perfect for creating a statement piece while maintaining a cosy, inviting atmosphere.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
