Description
Observing nature and contemporary lifestyles is central to the philosophy of Eva Paster and Michael Geldmacher, namely, Neuland Industriedesign : a pair of designers who have been working with Kristalia for some time now, creating successful design projects such as the collection of Elephant chairs. After this bestseller, which continues to develop over time, it is time for another design project inspired by the animal world : Sharky. The name comes from the fins on the belly and the rear of its polyurethane structure, which provide sturdy and stable coupling at the base : this technical detail was initially studied by designers by modelling the chair in clay, just like in an artisan workshop in the past, in order to understand all the technical and formal details of this design project, before moving on to modern 3D digital prototyping technology. The outcome is a slimline, sinuous and durable chair, thanks to the fin-shaped coupling elements between the structure and the wood base, further reinforced by internal steel bars : a solution that enables Sharky to pass any resistance test and show off its original appeal.
