I’m really taken with this Shaker desk for its clean lines and solid two-tone finish - the light oak top adds warmth while the white base keeps things fresh. It’s at home in country cottages, coastal pads or Scandi-inspired studies, and its two small drawers plus open shelving make it genuinely useful rather than purely decorative.
Styling’s straightforward: tuck woven baskets into the lower shelf for papers or magazines, add a minimalist brass lamp and a small pot plant to break up the straight lines, then anchor a simple piece of art or a framed photo above. Keep desktop clutter to a minimum and use matching storage trays in the drawers to maintain that neat, airy feel.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
