I’d call this our soft-white Shaker bookcase a real go-anywhere piece - its clean lines and subtle panelling slot neatly into everything from Scandi-inspired flats to country cottages and coastal hideaways. The lower cupboard is ideal for stashing paperwork or DVDs out of sight, while the open shelves give you freedom to mix books with baskets, plants and a few ceramics.
To style it, group books both vertically and horizontally, then layer in objects of varying heights - a framed print, a small vase and a sculptural bowl work well. Keep a consistent colour palette (neutrals with a pop of green or muted blue) and introduce a woven basket or two on the bottom shelf for texture and extra storage.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
