I’m a fan of these green metal stools for their hardy, powder-coated steel build and pared-back industrial look. They work well in urban loft kitchens, contemporary breakfast bars or even a sheltered patio, especially when paired with warm timber countertops or concrete surfaces.
For styling, try topping each seat with a slim, neutral-tone cushion to soften the feel and balance the colour, or mix in a couple of wooden stools of similar height for an eclectic edge. They’re stackable too, so you can tuck them away neatly when not in use.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth.
