Description

Design. Full of character and intrigue, the Atlas set of round side tables features a stunning Antique Gold finish that gives the impression of rich history. The smaller table slots easily beneath the larger one, so they can be displayed as a decorative feature, or instead, placed beside your favourite seating spots to offer extra surface space. Detailed with a faint map design, the tray table tops are conveniently detachable – perfect for when it’s your turn to put the kettle on. This gorgeous nesting duo works well alongside reclaimed woods to create a rustic feel. Alternatively, combine them with eclectic pieces and traveller’s trinkets for a globally diverse scheme.

Our Stylist Says

I love these side tables because of their contemporary yet versatile design, with the gold finish adding a hint of luxury. They work well in both modern and eclectic interiors, and are perfect for bringing a metallic touch to living rooms or bedrooms. Stylistically, they’re great for pairing with textured accessories like ceramics or glassware, and their differing heights make for interesting arrangements beside sofas or armchairs. Practical tips include using them as catch-all zones for books, lamps, or plants, or stacking small items to keep clutter discreetly out of sight. Their durable metal construction also makes them a practical choice for homes that see frequent use.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
