On a trip to Greece in the early 1960s, textile designer Maija Isola was inspired by the movement of water and depicted it in several fabric prints, including Seireeni (Mermaid) dating from 1964. Named after the mythological sirens, the motif also recalls the enchanting song that attracted sailors to these dangerous waters. Cheerful, chic and graphic, the collection of Marimekko decoration brightens up your interior! The simple shapes showcase the beautiful patterns of this collection. Created in 1951, Marimekko is a state of mind, a way of life based on creativity, freedom of spirit and inventiveness. Its notoriety dates back to 1960, the year in which Jackie Kennedy made several public appearances in dresses designed by Marimekko. The brand went on to enjoy enormous success, which continues today with a range of clothing and decorative accessories in vibrant colours.
