Classic silhouettes inspired Matthew Hilton to design the informal Oscar Bed for SCP. Retaining its classic charm with a touch of modernity, Oscar features a button-cushioned headboard as well as expertly turned decorative wooden legs. The bed’s pared-back silhouette with straight lines and natural curves lends it a contemporary edge.

I’m a fan of the Oscar bed in lagoon for its clean lines and rich, woven upholstery - it adds instant colour without feeling overwhelming. The low profile and turned oak legs give it a subtle nod to mid-century style, so it sits just as comfortably in a Scandi-inspired flat as it does in a modern coastal retreat.
To style it, pair crisp white or pale grey linens with a couple of accent cushions in muted terracotta or soft ochre. Keep your bedside storage light and minimal - think pale timber or white lacquer - and layer a neutral jute rug underneath to ground the look. A simple wall-mounted lamp either side will finish things off without clutter.
