I’m a fan of the red racer bed for the way it brings energy without dominating a room - its bold lines and graphic decals work well against plain white or light-grey walls. It’s ideal in a transport-themed nursery or a streamlined, modern space where you can pick up the bed’s red, black and white palette elsewhere in cushions, a rug or storage tubs.
Styling tip: keep nearby furniture simple - a low white shelf or bedside table lets the bed really pop. Add a check-patterned rug or race-track wall decal to tie in the motif, and choose bedding in solid black or charcoal with a couple of red accent cushions. In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
