Description

Looking fantastic on its own or surrounded by coordinating pieces from the Sarzay range, the Sarzay Single Bed has a gorgeous neutral design that works with a range of interiors. Crafted from poplar wood with subtle – but nonetheless stylish – details through linear grooves, bevelled edges and coveted corners, the Sarzay’s crowning glory is its unique headboard that combines chic upholstery and a practical wooden surround for a welcome touch of modern appeal. An ideal choice for children’s bedrooms and guest rooms, the Sarzay is available in a brilliant white or moonlight grey satin finish.

Our Stylist Says

The Sarzay single bed is a versatile piece that works particularly well in traditional or cottage-style interiors thanks to its classic design and subtle detailing. I love it because of its clean lines and neutral finish, making it easy to pair with a variety of colour schemes and textiles. For styling, consider layering with cosy bedding, plush pillows, and a textured throw to create a welcoming look. It also pairs well with light-painted bedside tables or vintage accessories for a charming, understated aesthetic. Practical tips include using under-bed storage for organisation and choosing streamlined bedding to maintain a neat, uncluttered space that maximises room for other decorative touches.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
