Crafted from open pored, white-painted oak, the Santiago Dining Table showcases a slender outline, reminiscent of the forms of aircraft wings, and was designed by Frank Rettenbacher for specialist Italian furniture manufacturer, Zanotta, in 2015.Created with the intention of bringing the same lightness provided by metal tables to wooden alternatives, the table is elegantly composed of white oak, with gently tapered legs that lead to a refined top, supported by additional wires that enhance the industrial essence of the design. Inspired by the architecture of Santiago Calatrava, after whom it is named, the table reinterprets Calatrava's signature steadiness, to become one of the most lightweight oak tables available today. Rettenbacher explains, "The soft edges and the underside emphasise lightness and improve comfort to naturally invite people to gather around. "A timeless contribution from one of the leaders in Italian industrial design, the Santiago Dining Table in a white-painted oak finish makes an informed addition to any space, as a family-friendly design classic.
