Price History

Description

This striking Ikat weave is named after the esteemed nineteenth-century Scottish botanist John Hutton Balfour. Relaxed and highly versatile, the design's repeating motif features as a woven jacquard. The width stated indicates the size of one curtain panel when laid completely flat. This pack contains two panels and the track/pole length we've recommended allows for the two panels to be gathered when the curtains are drawn. For a fuller look, increase the curtain width. One pair of 167cm width curtains will fit a curtain track/pole size 133-167cm One pair of 228cm width curtains will fit a curtain track/pole size 182-228cm Worth knowing... We package our curtains in recycled materials to keep them protected whilst they make their way to you. When they arrive they may be creased. We recommend you follow the ironing instructions on the back of the packaging prior to hanging your curtains. Be aware that each style of curtain has different ironing instructions, including heat limitations according to the fabric, so do make sure you follow the guidance provided to get the best results. Our Stylist Says

I love the Sanderson Hutton pair for their timeless and versatile look. Their neutral tone makes them a great fit for both traditional and contemporary interiors, adding soft texture without overwhelming the space. The lined design is perfect for improving insulation and reducing noise, making them practical for bedrooms and living rooms alike. When styling, consider pairing these curtains with patterned cushions or soft throws to create a cosy, layered feel. They also work well with wooden or painted window frames, giving a neat, polished finish. For a more modern touch, keep the surrounding décor simple and let the curtains be a subtle, stylish backdrop.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
