Description

An inviting and plump sofa that offers plenty of luxurious fixed cushioning in its stylish, tufted design, the San Marco Left Hand Facing Corner Sofa provides the perfect seating solution for modern decors that are yearning for an urban, contemporary appeal. Featuring splayed metal legs that lift the San Marco off the floor to offer an open and spacious look to living areas, this gorgeous sofa provides an abundance of seating for family and friends - so there is no need to worry about dragging through the dining chairs for unexpected visitors. Highly functional, as well as stunning in the looks department, the San Marco includes adjustable headrests that can manoeuvred into action when needed or kept folded down to emphasise the San Marco’s neat and clean aesthetic.

Our Stylist Says

The San Marco left-hand facing corner sofa is a versatile piece that works particularly well in contemporary and minimalist interiors thanks to its sleek, streamlined design and neutral grey upholstery. I love how its understated sophistication can anchor a living room without overpowering the space, making it perfect for both cosy family rooms or more open-plan settings. When styling, consider layering with textured cushions and throws for added comfort and visual interest. Its clean lines also lend themselves well to pairing with bold, statement accessories or art, creating a balanced and inviting look. Practical tips include placing it near a statement rug or under a large window to enhance its impact, while the angled corner provides a natural cosy nook that’s ideal for relaxed lounging.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
