Description

Retro inspired, the Salina dressing table is an eye-catching piece with its curvaceous traits, petite frame and stunning whitewashed stain finish. The classic round mirror attached to its table makes an immediate statement while providing a functional space for you spend many happy hours getting ready for the day ahead. Sturdy and practical in design, the Salina is crafted from Ash and features a lipped top to prevent items from rolling off its edges. Its full length vanity drawers also boasts an internal divider thats ideal for keeping any jewellery or smaller cosmetics organised.

Our Stylist Says

I love the simplicity of this dressing table, as it’s versatile enough to work in both contemporary and softer, more traditional interiors. Its neutral tone makes it easy to pair with various colour schemes and accessories, allowing for flexible styling options. For a clean, modern look, keep the surfaces uncluttered with minimal accessories, and add a touch of greenery or a chic lamp for warmth. In more classic settings, layered textiles like soft rugs or cushions can soften its minimalist lines. Practical tips include positioning it near a window for natural light when getting ready, and using organisers within the drawer to keep beauty essentials tidy. This piece works well in bedrooms where space and practicality are important, but it also acts as a gentle statement in a dressing alcove or walk-in wardrobe.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
