I’m a fan of the Salford bedside for its clean lines and the way the matt-black finish anchors a scheme without feeling heavy. Its slender oak-effect legs lift the unit, giving a touch of Scandi warmth, while the two drawers keep clutter out of sight. It works equally well in a minimalist or industrial-style bedroom - and even as a compact side table in a living room. Stylist tip: balance the dark finish with a small white or glass lamp for contrast, stack a couple of slim hardbacks and top with a bit of greenery. The drawers mean you can hide chargers or stationery, so the surface stays neat.

Humble Beginnings
In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores".
