Price History

Description

The compact Ruskin oak dining table is made from solid and veneered wood with subtle angled legs. Ruskin is a great kitchen table perfect for small spaces, which seats 4 people when closed and 6 when extended. Extension leaves are stored within the table. Designed by Nick Green for Habitat.

Our Stylist Says

I really like the Ruskin II for its versatile, natural oak finish, which makes it a great centrepiece for both contemporary and rustic interiors. Its clean lines and extending feature offer flexibility, ideal for hosting family dinners or casual brunches. Pair it with a mix of upholstered or woven chairs for a relaxed look, or go for more polished seating to create a smarter vibe. To style around it, keep the surrounding décor minimalist to highlight the wood’s natural warmth or add textured textiles and plants to soften the space. This table works particularly well in kitchens or open-plan dining areas where practicality and understated style come together effortlessly.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
