Part of a series of stylised, semi-abstract line drawings that use acrylic paint and charcoal to depict the image of a girl in a garden. About the artist Yana Medow is a contemporary artist based in Madrid. Originally from St Petersburg, she graduated from Academy of Applied Arts as a painting restorer, before working as both an illustrator and graphic designer. Her abstract works have been exhibited around the world.
I love this piece because of its striking monochrome palette and bold, graphic style, which makes it a versatile artwork that can complement a variety of interiors. It works especially well in contemporary or minimalist spaces where its strong lines and contrast can really stand out, but it can also add an unexpected dimension to more eclectic or monochrome schemes. For styling, consider framing it with a simple mat and a sleek frame to let the artwork speak for itself, and hang it at eye level in a living room or hallway where it can make a focal point. Pairing it with understated furniture and neutral walls will allow the piece to be the star, while softer textures in surrounding decor can balance its boldness.
