Description
R2-D2, the much-loved astromech droid is reproduced here in pewter, and with brilliant detail. Often coming to the rescue at the last minute and with great bravery, on this porcelain bookend the starship mechanic checks the coast is clear before accessing the communications panel behind him. Pewter is almost maintenance-free as it does not react with the air to oxidise or tarnish. It can attract dust and dirt, but all that's required is an occasional wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Over time and with use, pewter develops a pleasing and subdued patina unique to the metal which is part of the beauty of investing in this material.

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.
