Our Stylist Says

I love the rustic, industrial feel of this outdoor wall light, making it a great choice for adding character to garden patios or entrance porches. Its weathered finish and tempered glass create a durable and stylish fixture that works particularly well in contemporary or farmhouse-style exteriors. For practical styling, pair it with natural materials like wood or brick to enhance its earthy appeal. Position it next to doorways or along pathways to ensure good illumination, while keeping the down-light aspect to prevent light pollution and create a subtle glow. This light can also work indoors in hallways or stairwells if you want to extend the outdoor aesthetic inside.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
