I’m a fan of the Roxby table for its crisp lines and clever drop-leaf, which makes it ideal in smaller kitchens or flexible dining areas. Its pared-back look slots straight into Scandi, modern farmhouse or minimalist city apartments without overwhelming the space.
For styling, keep the top neat with a simple centrepiece - a slender vase or shallow fruit bowl works well - then mix and match dining chairs in soft neutrals to add interest. Underneath, a natural-fibre rug will ground the setting, and when you need extra room simply flip up the leaf and line a bench along one side, topping it with seat pads in complementary hues.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth.
