Our Stylist Says

The Rose Glass Easyfit Shade in amber is a great choice for adding a warm, ambient glow to a space. I love how its cosy hue can enhance interiors styled in a modern minimalist or Scandinavian way, providing subtle colour and texture without overpowering the look. It works particularly well in kitchens, dining areas, or bedrooms where a softer lighting scheme is desirable. For styling, consider pairing it with neutral or natural materials like wood, linen, or ceramics to keep the look cohesive. Practical tips include hanging it at a height that offers adequate task lighting without crowding the space and using dimmable bulbs to adjust the mood as needed. This pendant's simple yet striking design makes it versatile and a clever way to add personality to everyday interiors.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
