First launched as a wallpaper in 1914, Rose and Peony was redesigned as a printed fabric in 1929 and released the following year. By the 1960s it had been produced in twenty-eight colourways to suit changing tastes. It remains one of Sanderson’s most loved surface printed designs. Shown here in shades of blue clay and carmen red. The Rose & Peony wallpaper is perfect for a feature wall in a bedroom or office, or perhaps used to paper an entire dining room or living room. This wallpaper is part of the Levande wallpapers collection. Application method: paste the wall then apply wallpaper. Pattern match: half drop. Vertical pattern repeat: 53.4cm.
I love the Rose and Peony wallpaper because it brings a lively yet elegant floral vibe that can brighten up any space. It works especially well in vintage-inspired or cottage-style interiors, but also adds charm to more modern settings when paired with neutral furnishings. For practical styling, consider using this pattern as a feature wall in a living room or bedroom, and keep surrounding colours muted to let the floral design really stand out. Adding coordinating cushions or accessories in shades from the wallpaper helps create a cohesive look, while keeping furniture simple allows the pattern to be the focal point. Overall, it’s a versatile choice that blends classic floral appeal with contemporary versatility.
