Born at home on a farm in Mid Lothian in 1960, Ron spent his early years enjoying the open spaces of the Scottish countryside. On leaving school at 16 Ron started work in the art studio of a large Scottish publishing house and here was encouraged to develop his watercolour skills. After 35 years, Ron left the firm to devote more time to painting and embark on a career as a full time artist. Mixing a lifelong love of cycling with a desire to capture the beauty of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, Ron explores these areas with his bicycle, sketchpad and paint. This Ron Lawson print adds a subtle, monochromatic touch that works well in a variety of interiors, especially those leaning towards minimalist, coastal, or modern styles. I love how its understated palette and framed design make it versatile-perfect for living rooms, bedrooms, or hallways where you want a hint of visual interest without overpowering the space. For practical styling, consider pairing it with simple, neutral-toned furnishings, and if your space allows, hang it at eye level for maximum visual impact. Combining it with textured fabrics or natural materials can also soften the look and add warmth, making it a flexible piece to integrate into both contemporary and more traditional settings.
