'Black Cottage' by artist Ron Lawson. This giclee print has a window mount in a handmade and hand-finished sustainably sourced solid ash wood frame. Made in the UK by museum specialists and printed on heavyweight, matt-smooth fine art paper, it's ready to hang on your wall. Born at home on a farm in Mid Lothian in 1960, Ron Lawson spent his early years enjoying the open spaces of the Scottish countryside. On leaving school at 16, Ron started work in the art studio of a large Scottish publishing house and here was encouraged to develop his watercolour skills. After 35 years, Ron left the firm to devote more time to painting and embark on a career as a full-time artist. Mixing a lifelong love of cycling with a desire to capture the beauty of the Highlands and islands of Scotland, Ron explores these areas with his bicycle, sketchpad and paint. Have you thought about wall hooks and fittings?
I really like this Ron Lawson print for its simplicity and boldness. Its monochrome palette makes it versatile, working well in modern, minimalist, or even industrial interiors. It’s a great piece to add visual interest without overwhelming a space-ideal for above a sofa or bed, or as part of a gallery wall. Practical styling tips include pairing it with other black and white artworks or textured accessories to keep the look cohesive. Its sizeable frame makes it a real focal point, so it’s worth hanging at eye level for maximum impact. Overall, it’s an easy way to introduce a contemporary art vibe that’s both stylish and understated.
