Description
A key figure in contemporary design, Faye Toogood is an avant-garde artist who lives and works in London. Her amazing Roly Poly chair comes from the ''Assemblage'' collection. In this series of furniture items, the designer works around simple, solid shapes inspired by outsider art and primitivism. The reassuring curves of this oversize armchair serve a naïve, almost childish design. The curved, soft shapes form a break with our very strict, linear everyday environments. This creation emits a positive energy, blended with the sensuality of biomorphic shapes. Faye Toogood says of her work: "My personal approach does not take account of conventions to better implement bold, joyful and spontaneous accomplishments. My studio is renowned for producing very conceptual work, full of energy and diversity. In fact, I think in particular that there is a touch of humanity and emotion behind everything we do. ".
